Roberts Creek Mandala: A Tribute to the Bee

If you can, you really must make your way to Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast to check out this year’s mandala. Started in 1997 and marking its 16th year, the Roberts Creek mandala is a wonderful expression of the love and spirit within the community.

This year’s mandala theme is a dedication to the marvelous pollinator the bee.

This pleases me. We need more public education about how important pollinators are for the planet and us. What better way to inspire learning than through visual stimulation.

Did you know that bees have stinky feet? Their stinky little feet leave invisible foots prints all over a flower so other bees know that flower needs a few minutes to recover before it’s ready to give more pollen and nectar.

Here are a handful of my favourite cells from this year’s mandala.
