Vintage Double Exposure
Back in December, I spent an afternoon sifting through my Black and White Time Machine with my sister. She’d never seen many of the photos before. We drank tea together and I shared the stories I knew about the photos, much like my grandma did with me when she was still alive.
Inspired by how excited my sister was to share in the photographic and oral history of our family, I got to work scanning as many photos as I could (before feeling cross-eyed) as a Christmas present for her.
Out of the mix came the photo you see below.
As a horror movie fan, the photo delights me in an ultra creepy way because—to me—it feels like the beginning of a horror movie. Steeped in sepia or vintage monochrome, they open portals for us to see between the lines.
